This workshop is perfect for the performer who loves musical theatre. In this two-day workshop, participants will get a chance to work on a group number from a popular musical, as well as individual attention on an excerpt from a solo song. Over the course of the two days we will cover vocal technique, vocal performance, song analysis, acting and basic choreography. Come see what it takes to be Broadway Bound!
ON-CAMERA ACTING
Instructor: Greg Thomas
Are you ready for your close-up? Come and act for the camera! Learn terminology, tricks of the trade and have fun performing short scenes from various tv shows and commercials. We'll work on making your acting natural and compelling while focussing on the relationship between the performer and the camera.
AUDITION TECHNIQUE FOR THEATRE

Have you ever wanted to audition for the school play and not known how to prepare? What about a community theatre show? In this audition technique workshop participants will be guided by a professional actor on everything you need to know about auditioning for the theatre. Topics will include how to prepare monologues and scenes, cold-readings, selling yourself to the judging panel and much more! Whether you are interested in auditioning for an arts-based high school or maybe one-day becoming a professional actor, this workshop will set you on the path to achieve your acting goals.
HIP HOP CONTEMPORARY DANCE FUSION
Instructor: Leah Rifkin
Reality shows like So You Think You Can Dance have paved the way for the fusion of contrasting dance styles. In this workshop, dancers will get the chance to explore both hip hop and contemporary dance and how the two styles can meld together to create exciting choreography. 3 workshops are available and every 2 weeks dancers will learn a new piece of choreography. If you like to dance this workshop is for you! Dancers should come in clothes appropriate for dance. Dance shoes or runners are required.
JAZZ DANCE
Instructor: Leah Rifkin
Afro-jazz, modern, and lyrical dance have all influenced what we describe today as jazz dance. It is a combination of fun-filled movement and technique, mixed with many different kinds of jumps and floor work. In this workshop we will work on building your flexibility, stamina, and strength by doing across the floor exercises as well as routines that allow you to leap and bound around the dance floor! 3 workshops are available and every 2 weeks dancers will learn a new piece of choreography. Dancers should come in clothes appropriate for dance and must either be bare foot or have proper dance shoes.
