Camp Registration

Horizon Arts Camp is currently accepting applications for its one and only camp session (Monday July 6 - Friday July 24, 2009) of the 2009 summer season. The camp site for 2009 is still being finalized due to permit delays, but it will more than likely be at Portage Trail Community School (Jane & Weston Road), the site used during the 2008 season of Arts Adventure Camp. Details regarding the exact bus pick-up locations will also be made available soon.

Those who wish to take advantage of this priority application period are welcome to apply now! Please note we cannot guarantee the location or bus routes at this point, however applying early will help secure a spot for your child. Other benefits to applying early include early bird or sibling discounts and a greater chance that your child will get their first choice for their arts major (Upper Campers and LITs only).

Families who apply during this period will be eligible for a full refund should the camp location or bus routes not meet your needs once they are announced.

Please review the Fees & Assistance section for details about our 2009 rates.

We also encourage both new and returning camper families to review the How to Apply section for our 2009 application instructions.

Should have you any questions regarding the application process for our 2009 summer season please contact us @ camp@horizonartscamp.org or 416-558-0922.

ELIGIBILITY

Horizon Arts Camp focuses on ensuring that the arts and camp are accessible to families who find it a struggle to afford summer programs by providing camp fees on a sliding scale for families of various income levels. The Camp assesses each family’s need based on the information provided in the application and from the referral. Please note that confirmation of income is required for both new and returning campers in the form of a pay stub, T4 statement, or income tax assessments.

Horizon Arts Camp accepts campers between the ages of 7 – 15:

Campers and Leadership participants must have turned the following ages by December 31st, 2008 in order to be eligible:

  • Campers in Lower Camp 7-10 years old

  • Campers in Upper Camp 11-13 years old

  • Leader-In-Training (LIT) 14 years old*

  • Counsellor-In-Training (CIT) 15 years old*

* In some circumstances participants in the LIT and CIT Programs have been older than the specified age. The Camp assesses such applications on a case-by-case basis.

AVAILABILITY

There are only a certain number of spots available in each of the two sections of camp (Lower Camp and Upper Camp). Once a section is full campers may be placed on a waiting list. Horizon Arts Camp highly recommends getting your applications in early to avoid disappointment. This is especially relevant to campers in Upper Camp and in the LIT Program, as the timing of your application may affect what arts major you are placed in. The Camp is unable to guarantee that Upper Campers and LITs will get their first choice for their arts major no matter when their application is submitted.
