Camp Philosophy

Horizon Arts Camp

A culture of deep caring surrounds all the activities at Horizon Arts Camp, so that learning can extend beyond mastering a specific dance routine or sports play. Teaching campers about respect, teamwork, responsibility, and non-violent conflict resolution are at the core of the camp program. It is through the participation in the arts and traditional camp activities that campers develop life skills that will serve them well as they approach adolescences and young adulthood.

This is achieved through a camp structure that supports both the physical and emotional needs of all H.A.C. campers. Whether it is ensuring that campers have access to proper nutrition and daily physical exercise, or a listening ear when they need to chat, the camp staff will do their best to provide a positive camp experience to each child in our program.
