EMILY BURKART, Junior Counsellor
Emily is currently a grade 11 student at Greenwood College School. Over past number of years she has participated in many camp activities both as a camper as well as a Leader-In-Training at Camp Onondaga and Camp Amigo. Emily has participated in the Regent Park Reading Program, volunteered with Free the Children and worked within her local church both with the Out in the Cold program and various outreach initiatives run by Kingsway Lambton Church. Emily is an active participant in many sports including basketball, skiing, soccer, softball and swimming. She recently was awarded her Silver Duke of Edinburgh for her outstanding work in the community.

SHAWN HOWELL, Junior Counsellor
Shawn is graduating high school from George Harvey Collegiate Institute this year. After high school Shawn will be attending George Brown College to receive his Advanced Diploma in Marketing. His previous camp experience includes completing the Counsellor-In-Training Program at the Arts Adventure Camp. He loves sports and music and he can't with the share what his know with the campers at H.A.C. this summer.

KWAME KYEI-BOATENG, Senior Counsellor
With an ambition for acting and writing since the age of thirteen, Kwame Kyei-Boateng has always had a passion for theatre. This is what drew him to York University’s Theatre program. Today, Kwame is entering his final year at York University where he is working towards his Bachelor of Arts degree in the Theatre program. With three years of theatre study behind him, Kwame has gained much knowledge of the theatre industry and now has new aspirations to delve into the world of physical theatre. This will be Kwame’s fifth summer as a camp counsellor and his second summer at Horizon Arts Camp. Kwame once again looks forward to helping campers find their own passion and niche.

SARAH MASOTTI, Junior Counsellor
Sarah is entering her final year of high school at St. Clement's School, where she also serves as a student leader/prefect. In the past, Sarah has worked as a camp counsellor at both Kingsway College's Camp Amigo and at John. G. Althouse Community School Camp. She also has experience as a gymnastics coach and counsellor at the Etobicoke Olympium. Sarah enjoys dancing, acting, and playing sports and she can't wait to spend the summer days doing her favourite activities with the enthusiastic campers of H.A.C.!

ADELE MARANZANA, Junior Counsellor
Adele is completing her grade 11 year at Dante Alighieri Academy. Her previous camp experience includes completing the Leadership-In-Training and also Counsellor-in-Training Programs through Horizon Arts Camp. She has also been involved in after school activities such as ESP (empowered student partnership) and has also been a leader for 3 years for the school's grade nine orientation where she had the chance to organize three-day overnight excursions at Muskoka Woods. This will be her first year being an H.A.C. staff member and Adele is very excited to meet all the 2010 campers and can’t wait to have a memorable and outstanding camp season!

IVY PHUNG, Senior Counsellor
Ivy is entering her third year at York University where she is working towards her Bachelor of Science Honours Biology (Biomedical Science) Degree. Over the years she has completed a Leader-In-Traning Program through Parks and Recreation, Junior Counsellor at the Arts Adventure Camp, and Senior Counsellor at Horizon Arts Camp. She is looking forward to another great summer with H.A.C.

CARLY REINHART, Senior Counsellor
Carly is graduating high school from Ursula Franklin Academy this year. She has been working with children in various capacities including; a co-op placement in a kindergarten class, assisting in an art class at Parkdale Community Health Centre; and as a counsellor at Arts Adventure Camp in 2008. This past year she volunteered as a counsellor for the grade 9 leadership retreat at her school. Carly participated in many sports teams in high school including cross country, volleyball, soccer and softball. This fall Carly will be traveling to Uganda to volunteer in a school and HIV clinic. She loves visual art and music and is excited to share her passion with the campers at H.A.C. this summer!

LEAH RIFKIN, Senior Counsellor
Leah is entering her second year at Ryerson University where she is working towards her Bachelor's Degree in Radio and Television Arts. She has successfully completed her Counsellor-In-Training Program through AFC Arts Adventure Camp and worked there as a Junior Counsellor for one year. This is her second year working at Horizon Arts Camp and her first year as a Senior Counsellor, where she will also be teaching the Radio Arts hobby. Leah is also an accomplished dancer, with over 5 years of ballroom dance training to her credit. She is greatly looking forward to H.A.C.'s 2010 camp season and is very excited to meet all of the amazing campers!

CAYA ROSS-DALLING, Senior Counsellor
Caya is graduating high school this year from Ursula Franklin Academy in Toronto. She was the Social Executive on the Student Council and was a member of the Steering Committee for the grade 9 leadership retreat. Caya has done volunteer work with young children at a daycare centre and with Circle Sing. She will also a counsellor at Arts Adventure Camp during the summer of 2008. In fall, she will be attending the University of Guelph and plans to major in Psychology. Caya has been studying dance and drama for many years and looks forward to sharing her skills with her campers this summer!

GECH TAING, Senior Counsellor & Bus Leader
Gech is attending Ryerson University where she is working towards her Bachelors of Nursing Degree. Her previous camp experience includes completing a Leader-In-Training Program through the Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls club, working as a Counsellor at the Harbourfront March Break Camp in 2008, being a Junior Counsellor at the Arts Adventure Camp, and a Senior and Bus Counsellor at Horizon Arts Camp. She is looking forward to the upcoming camp season and can’t wait to work with all the wonderfully talented campers that will be attending H.A.C. this summer!

Laura is looking forward to heading into her fourth year at the University of Toronto where she is studying health and disease, psychology and bioethics. Even though her school is very science-based, she is also a very artistic person. Laura has her grade 10 piano, has been a part of choirs and bands, and absolutely loves ballet; arabesques and pirouettes are her passion! Her previous camp experience includes two summers as a counsellor at the Children’s Opera Summer Camp in Guelph, Ontario. She also has lots of experience through her leadership positions on student councils, and in hospital volunteering placements. Laura can’t wait for camp to start, and looks forward to helping campers get the most out of their camp experience at Horizon!

SHARON ZHANG, Senior Counsellor
Sharon is entering her second year at Queen's University where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Her previous experience working with children consists of volunteering at the Royal Ontario Museum Summer Club, being a tutor to children of a variety of ages and a piano teacher. Sharon has an extensive background in music and plays both the piano and double bass. She has also studied theory and music history for several years. Sharon is excited to share her knowledge with the campers at H.A.C this summer!
